Something new

Having just put down the NYT, I've started my own newspaper: Underdog News. Mainly this is a way of relaying all the good stuff that comes my way via blogs and twitter. These days that is of such a volume that I can't keep up, blogging-wise.

The aim is to come up with a site that relays stories that give an alternative slant to the narrative provided by our intrepid MSM. Items that don't make it to the mainstream, hence 'Underdog News'. Not all of it is underdog, though. But the mix of 'hard' MSM news and explanation and interpretation provided by others will hopefully make for a interesting and informative mix. This is a bit of an experiment. I hope it will work out as I intend it to.

It is a bit of a mixed-up thing, with items in EN and NL, with the occasional D or F item thrown in. In the coming days and weeks I'll probably play around with the settings to get it optimized.

I've provided a link in the right-hand side column. A new issue is published daily at 0600 2100 GMT.

Great idea. The epaper looks professional -  and I mean that as a compliment.

On the subject of council chiefs and the heads of quangos looting the public purse, Raedwald has been investigating this for some time.

Currently it is another quango - WRAP's distortions feed bad policy.

There is a simple solution. All we have to do is to get MPs to obey our wishes or they can line up at the job centre.

Just blogged it. What an awful story.

Depressing indeed.

Mary Boyce picked up on the pitiable situation of dogs in Muslim countries a long while back. Dogs could actually sense that they were in the presence of Muslims, and behave accordingly- mostly in a cringing manner.

More recently, in Iraq, it was the same situation. Stray dogs went over to allied troops simply to get what dogs want - a re-assuring hand from who they consider as their friends and masters. A dog's DNA is hard wired to be friendly to humans - he cannot behave in any other way. So it must be hell for a dog to be in a Muslim country.
